Obituariy of Bergliot Josephine Mindestrom



Bergliot Josephine 'Mindy' 'Bella' Mindestrom, 92, of Rice Lake Road, formerly of Glenwood St., died Thurs., July 3, 2003, in Chris Jensen Health Center. Mindy was born September 26, 1910, in Duluth, to John and Bertha Mindestrom. She attended schools in Duluth, graduating from Duluth Central High School in 1929, and was a graduate of St. Luke's School of Nursing. She was a World War II Army veteran, serving as a Registered Nurse in the 56th General Hospital in Europe, England, France, and Belgium. She began her career at St. Luke's before World War II, and resumed her work at St. Luke's after the war, including her teaching and supervising. 

She enjoyed reading, crossword puzzles, and spending time at her former cabin in Iron River, Wis. She was a member of First Norwegian Lutheran Church, which later became First Lutheran Church, where she has been a longtime member. She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother JohnMindestrom; and a sister Susie Wagtskjold. She is survived by two nephews, John Ludsen of Cloquet and Forrest Ludsen of Fla.; special friends Billand Deloris McNaughton of Duluth; and several cousins. 

VISITATION:noon until the 1 p.m. service Monday in Jarvi-Dowd Chapel. Rev. DanielBergeland officiating. Burial at Park Hill Cemetery. Memorials to First Lutheran Church would be appreciated. Arrangements by Bell Brothers Funeral and Cremation Services, Jarvi-Dowd Chapel. 925 East 4th St.
